Overview

Mastercard’s AI Center of Excellence (AI COE) is seeking an AI Engineer to lead a team building production grade Agentic AI and traditional AI/ML solutions. This role is ideal for an engineer early in their career who wants to learn fast, ship significant features, and grow under the mentorship of senior engineers in a regulated environment.

The Role

• Contribute to prototype efforts and deliver production-ready features.
• Build core components for Agentic AI systems including RAG, embeddings, vector search, and tool/function calling.
• Enhance model evaluation frameworks and monitor key metrics such as quality and latency.
• Collaborate on data ingestion, compliance policies, and usage contracts across teams.
• Implement observability tools, guardrails, and cost controls following secure coding practices.

All About You

You hold a BS/MS in Computer Science/Data Science or equivalent experience, are proficient in Python, REST, SQL, Git, Docker, and CI/CD workflows, and have exposure to LLMs, embeddings, RAG, and ML frameworks like PyTorch or TensorFlow. Experience with major cloud platforms, data lakes, event-driven systems, and Responsible AI practices is beneficial.
