AI Engineering Manager

Overview

Mastercard’s AI Center of Excellence (AI COE) is seeking an AI Engineering Manager to lead a team building production grade Agentic AI and traditional AI/ML solutions. You will own end-to-end delivery—from architecture and experimentation to secure, compliant, scalable deployment, partnering closely with various teams across the organization.

The Role

  • Hire, develop, and retain a high performing team of AI engineers.
  • Establish engineering rituals and uphold high bars for quality.
  • Define technical strategy and guide teams from POC to production.
  • Drive platform thinking by building reusable AI services and SDKs.
  • Ensure CI/CD, observability, compliance, and secure production deployments.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams for data, legal, risk, and product integration.

All About You

We seek candidates with a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field, and ample experience in managing engineering teams delivering AI/ML systems. Proven track records, technical depth in Python, PyTorch/TensorFlow, modern microservices, and AI/LLM technologies are essential. Experience with regulated environments, security standards, and Responsible AI practices is highly preferred.
