Job Description
The Industrial Design Product Specialist - CMF plays a critical role in shaping the visual and tactile experience of MasterBrand products. This role involves strategic development of color, material, and finish, supporting new product innovation and ensuring design intent is translated into technical specifications and vendor collaborations. Candidates will lead CMF initiatives aligned with brand identity, market trends, and manufacturing capabilities, while also supporting usability studies and aesthetic analysis.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Color, Material and Finish design projects aligned with brand and manufacturing needs.
- Develop and maintain finish palettes, material specifications, and color standards.
- Collaborate with suppliers to source and refine suitable materials.
- Translate trend insights into actionable CMF strategies for innovation.
- Create compelling visual presentations including mood boards and prototypes.
- Manage documentation and governance for consistency across portfolio.
- Support ergonomic and usability studies with material interaction focus.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams for comprehensive CMF integration.
- Monitor competitive landscape and emerging CMF technologies.
- Travel up to 20% for vendor visits, trade shows and industry events.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design, Interior Design, Engineering, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in CMF or design-related roles.
- Proficiency in Autodesk tools, Adobe Creative Suite, and kitchen design software (e.g., 20/20 Design).
- Strong understanding of design thinking, CMF strategy, and presentation layout.
- Experience with project management tools and methodologies.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Highly organized and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
Additional Information
