Assistant Manager, Data Scientist - AML D&A at Mashreq

Mashreq is seeking an Assistant Manager, Data Scientist to independently drive high-quality Data Analytics, Data Science, and Engineering work within the Anti-Money Laundering (AML) domain.

Role Overview

This pivotal role involves designing and developing advanced solutions utilizing machine learning, deep learning, graph analytics, and LLM/RAG-based techniques. The primary goal is to significantly enhance AML detection capabilities, derive deeper behavioral insights, and improve investigative intelligence. You will be instrumental in transforming intricate datasets into clear, actionable insights, contributing directly to the creation of production-ready analytical assets that inform AML operational and strategic business decisions.

Key Responsibilities and Collaboration

You will collaborate extensively across various crucial teams, including AML, Transaction Monitoring (TM), Investigations, Technology, Cloud/Data Engineering, and Compliance. This involves working with diverse data types—structured, semi-structured, unstructured, and graph data—within cutting-edge cloud-native environments. The position demands robust analytical thinking, hands-on expertise in model development, and a solid foundation in data engineering principles.

Compliance and Growth

Adherence to stringent regulatory requirements, including MRM and CBUAE expectations, as well as internal data governance and standards, is paramount.
