About the role
QA Business Analyst - Corporate Affairs
The QA/Business Analyst is an integral part of our Agile squad, responsible for both requirements and testing aspects of project delivery. This role involves practical work, including participating in requirements discussions, writing test cases, and executing manual and automated tests. The successful candidate will ensure the squad understands the project scope and verify the delivered work meets the intended standards. Working in a regulated banking environment, accuracy is paramount, as the reports and data tested directly impact the bank's operations and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in requirements discussions with stakeholders, the Product Owner, and the squad, documenting specifications and acceptance criteria.
- Write and execute test cases for functional, integration, and regression testing, following the Senior QA/BA's approach.
- Support data pipeline and report validation using SQL and basic data analysis techniques.
- Log and track defects, providing clear documentation and evidence for resolution.
- Maintain traceability between requirements, test cases, and results for audit and compliance purposes.
- Collaborate daily with developers, the Senior QA/BA, and other team members, ensuring effective communication.
- Tackle day-to-day testing problems systematically, seeking guidance when needed.
- Make decisions on test case structure, scenarios, and defect logging, escalating issues when necessary.
- Actively develop skills in test automation, data validation, and banking domain knowledge.
- Be a reliable team player, taking ownership of tasks and managing workload within sprint deadlines.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Technology, Business, or a related field.
- Up to 5 years of experience in QA, Business Analysis, or a combined role.
- Experience in manual testing with exposure to test automation tools (Selenium, Playwright, Postman, etc.).
- Working knowledge of SQL for querying databases and data output checks.
- Understanding of Agile and Scrum practices, and the importance of documentation and traceability.
- Ability to participate in requirements discussions and take clear notes.
- Comfortable asking questions and working with business stakeholders.
- Willingness to learn and develop skills in test automation and data validation.
- Clear and honest communication skills, with a team-oriented mindset.
- Experience in a regulated banking environment is an asset.
