Assistant Vice President - Technology - Core Platform

Mashreq Corporate & Investment Banking Group is seeking an experienced Assistant Vice President for their Technology Core Platform team. This role involves end-to-end ownership of applications within the Core Platform cluster, including roadmap development, project delivery, and ensuring application stability. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of financial services domain, complex system development, and cross-border team management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide technical leadership for the Core Platform cluster, ensuring end-to-end ownership and sound knowledge of all applications.
• Develop and manage the roadmap for applications within the cluster.
• Accountable for all project deliveries, URF (Unforeseen Resource Factor), and ensuring project milestones are met on schedule, within budget, and with minimal risks.
• Ensure the stability of all applications within the cluster and lead troubleshooting and resolution of critical issues.
• Maintain engagement with architecture teams and ensure non-functional requirements are met, including documentation.
• Prepare and present root cause analysis for issues to service management.
• Ensure delivered solutions meet business expectations, derive value, and adhere to technology standards.
• Manage the quality, cost, and schedule of assigned technology projects.
• Implement the change management process for all technology deliverables.
• Optimize technology solutions based on business requirements, existing applications, technology trends, total cost of ownership, scalability, and stability.
• Focus on regulatory, control, and audit requirements, managing associated risks.
• Minimize costs on technology deliverables by leveraging existing applications.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with business partners across all levels.
• Liaise with functional teams, TOPS, and other stakeholders to resolve business concerns.
• Ensure the appropriateness of technology solutions delivered to business units.
• Support business analysis, solution design, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) management.
• Implement LEAN practices across technology solution delivery.
• Keep management informed of all risks, issues, and their status.
• Adhere to the bank's operational risk policy.
