Assistant Vice President Technology Core Banking

About the Role

Mashreq is undertaking a significant initiative to upgrade to the latest Oracle FLEXCUBE Core Banking platform across GCC countries and international locations. This pivotal role requires a Techno-Functional Expert and System Analyst to provide subject matter expertise on the new system, overseeing technical requirements, support, infrastructure, product development, and deployment to ensure the implementation of state-of-the-art technology.

Responsibilities

The Technical SME will be responsible for analyzing technical needs, understanding infrastructure, developing products with extensibility, and managing deployments. This role involves working across the full technology stack with a cross-functional team, including Product Owners, developers, vendors, and engineers. Key responsibilities include delivering IT solutions that meet business and functional requirements, managing the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) from requirements gathering through post-implementation maintenance. The Technical Lead will also manage Service Level Agreements (SLAs), schedule, budget, scope, testing, quality, and compliance throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Results Areas

• Provide functional and technical expertise and recommendations for overall solution approach and integration requirements.
• Review and evaluate technical requirements against existing and proposed systems, recommending solutions.
• Analyze technical requirement changes and their impact on existing systems.
• Manage integration and design documentation detailing deliverables to meet requirements.
• Assist the development team by explaining banking concepts and verifying correct issue resolution and functionality.
• Oversee issue resolution activities by guiding and assisting the development team and maintaining a positive working relationship.
• Handle the implementation of customized FLEXCUBE solutions at bank sites, supporting integration, performance, and security testing.
• Verify project plans, RACI matrix, and production transfer documentation.
• Monitor applications to ensure adequate system resources for production standards.
• Review and evaluate business requirements against existing and proposed systems, recommending solutions.
• Analyze functional requirement changes and their impact on existing systems.
• Prepare solution documentation (System Requirement Specifications - SRS) outlining deliverables.
• Develop and execute Technical Design Specifications and programs.
• Actively participate in issue resolution, guiding the development team and maintaining functional relationships.
• Understand business requirements and effectively prepare Requirement Specifications and Functional Specifications.
• Implement customized FLEXCUBE solutions at bank sites and conduct integration testing.
• Prepare specifications for enhancements and change requests.
• Prepare and verify production transfer documentation.
• Maintain documentation for custom configuration and parameterization of third-party solutions.
• Provide technical guidance, information, and instruction to other IT staff.
• Follow and ensure adherence to Core Banking Implementation guiding principles by all stakeholders.
• Create required repositories and manage version control of sources and documents.
• Conduct system analysis and provide support for business requirements.
• Work effectively with vendors and internal teams for application stability, monitoring, capacity management, and incident management.
• Achieve agreed SLAs.
• Conduct system analysis and provide support for user issues.
• Provide technical expertise and recommendations for system assessment and enhancement initiatives.
• Analyze functional requirement changes and their impact on system functionality.
• Help the development team by explaining banking concepts and verifying correct issue resolutions.
• Prepare test cases and corresponding test data.
• Perform root cause analysis (RCA) following production system disruptions.
