Job Summary
A Claims Adjuster I at Marriott International is responsible for the timely, good faith adjustment and disposition of self-administered claims. You will manage a caseload of 100-150 casualty claims, overseeing investigations, evaluations, negotiations, settlements, and denials.
Candidate Profile
Required education includes a High School Diploma or GED with 1+ years of claims adjusting or equivalent experience. Knowledge of claims processing is necessary. Preferred qualifications include industry licensing, AIC or ARM credentials, and a two or four year degree from an accredited institution.
Core Work Activities
- Manage 100-150 claims and conduct prompt investigations to determine liability.
- Evaluate damages, process payments, and handle settlements per Marriott policies.
- Oversee WC payments and state filings, and manage medical treatment cases.
- Handle litigation cases including directing outside attorneys and discovery preparation.
- Utilize the Valley Oaks System (iVOS) for electronic claims management.
