Senior Product Security Engineer at Marqeta

We are seeking a Senior Product Security Engineer to join our team. This role is responsible for creating and maintaining the processes and technologies used to secure our products and systems.

• Build and mature a product security team.
• Develop novel security tooling and solutions.
• Educate and empower engineers in a technical environment.
• Work hands-on with static/dynamic code analysis, API and cloud security.

The Impact You'll Have

• Conduct security design reviews and threat modeling.
• Develop and integrate automated security testing in CI/CD pipelines.
• Provide hands-on security education and training to engineering teams.
• Design secure architecture solutions with built-in safety controls.
• Lead proof of concept evaluations for advanced security solutions.

Who You Are

Qualified candidates have a minimum of 5 years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent. You have expertise in application security, security engineering, and DevSecOps, with a history of securing CI/CD pipelines, conducting secure code reviews, and vulnerability analysis. Knowledge of secure architecture, operational cryptography (TLS, PKI), compliance frameworks (PCI DSS 4.0, SOC2, ISO27K1, GDPR, NIST CSF, NIST SSDF) and AWS cloud native operations is required.

Nice To Have

• Experience with Kubernetes and IaC tools like Terraform.
• Exposure to GenAI driven tooling and Payments Cryptography.
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, OSCP, CCSP, or CISA.
• Background in AWS cloud services security design and protocols.

Compensation And Benefits

The role offers a competitive base salary in CAD (ranging from 119,400 to 149,300), annual bonuses, flexible work environment and additional benefits including health insurance, flexible time off, retirement programs, equity in a publicly-traded company, remote work stipends, development funds, and family-forming benefits.
