Mark43 is seeking an Associate Data Scientist to join their Global Services team. This role involves working closely with public safety agencies and internal teams to transform operational data into actionable insights. You will drive analytical projects to support decision-making, improve operations, and create real-world impact in communities.

What You'll Do

• Collaborate with senior team members and customers to define analytical questions and identify necessary data and methodologies.
• Utilize SQL queries and Python or R for data cleaning, exploration, and analysis.
• Develop and update dashboards and visualizations to present complex data in an understandable format, incorporating customer feedback.
• Integrate multiple datasets, addressing data quality challenges to ensure reliable outputs.
• Translate analytical findings into clear summaries, visuals, and products for non-technical stakeholders.
• Partner with Services, Product, and Engineering teams to share customer insights and enhance the platform.
• Assist customers in understanding the Mark43 data model and effectively using the tools.

What You'll Need

The ideal candidate will have 0-2 years of professional, academic, or internship experience working with data. This role is suitable for individuals eager to learn on the job, develop technical skills in a dynamic environment, and grow into an independent contributor.

Required Qualifications:

• Proficiency in Python or R, with a willingness to learn SQL for data analysis and manipulation.
• Experience through coursework, internships, or projects in building analyses, reports, or visualizations.
• A strong desire to learn new tools, systems, and the Mark43 data model.
• Comfort in handling messy or incomplete datasets and a commitment to improving data quality.
• Background in statistics, computer science, economics, data science, or a related analytical field, with an interest in machine learning techniques.
• Ability to communicate analytical insights clearly and compellingly, both verbally and in writing, to diverse audiences.
• Public safety, law enforcement, or crime analysis experience is a plus but not mandatory.
