About the role
Software Engineer at Mariner
Under direction of a senior software engineer, the software engineer develops, maintains, and enhances internally developed applications, tools, and utilities, including a proprietary advisor support platform that includes CRM, investment tracking, billing, research and operational workflows.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a .NET-based, proprietary advisor platform
- Build and enhance API and back-end services
- Write and optimize T-SQL queries and stored procedures for data access and reporting
- Troubleshoot bugs and performance issues
- Take direction from Senior Software Engineers and Project Leads
- Adhere to best practices in software development, including CI/CD, testing, code quality, and documentation
- Collaborate with other team members and contribute to team discussions
- Interact with internal clients regarding development details
- Document technical processes and system changes
Required Education And Experience
Bachelors’ degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field or equivalent experience. 1 to 3+ years of experience in software engineering or internships.
Preferred Education And Experience
- Microsoft Power Apps and Power Automate experience
- Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) experience
Skills
- Microsoft development stack (.NET, C#, ASP.NET, etc.)
- Basic Web API development
- T-SQL and SQL Server Fundamentals
- Understanding of OOP principles
- Some experience with cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD, and modern engineering tooling and general software development life cycle principles
- Ability to solve problems and make decisions in complex environments
- Sequel server reporting services experience is a plus
