Job Description

About Marigold

Marigold is a rapidly expanding marketing technology company dedicated to fostering stronger customer relationships for growing businesses. We achieve this through our three core platforms: Emma, Campaign Monitor, and Vuture. Our mission is to deliver powerful tools for email, SMS, and marketing automation that not only elevate engagement but also drive tangible results. While headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee, Marigold also maintains offices in Sydney and London.

The AI Product Manager Role

Marigold is at the forefront of developing the next generation of intelligent marketing capabilities. We are actively seeking an AI Product Manager who possesses the unique ability to translate strategic vision into meticulously designed, production-ready AI features. In this pivotal role, you will collaborate intensely with our AI Engineering and Data Science teams to build end-to-end AI systems. You will hold ownership of the product direction, critical decisions, and ultimate outcomes that bring the Chief Product Officer’s expansive AI vision to fruition.

A deep understanding of how AI systems function in real-world environments is crucial. You will leverage this knowledge to make informed product decisions, evaluate tradeoffs effectively, and ensure that all solutions are practical, reliable, scalable, and built responsibly. This position thrives in a fast-paced, high-velocity setting, demanding comfort with ambiguity, rapid iteration, and decisive execution, all without ever compromising quality or safety.

If you possess a comprehensive understanding of AI system behavior and the discerning judgment to guide their optimal interaction with customers, this role presents an unparalleled opportunity to shape meaningful, high-impact AI-driven products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Translate the CPO’s AI vision into precise product requirements, measurable milestones, and intuitive user experiences, making daily product and design decisions that ensure team alignment, remove blockers, and accelerate progress.
  • Partner in an embedded development model with AI Engineering, Data Science, and Design teams, cultivating a working fluency in Marigold’s ML systems, LLMs, data pipelines, evaluation frameworks, routing logic, and retrieval workflows to inform effective tradeoffs.
  • Establish clear quality standards for AI features, encompassing accuracy, reliability, consistency, predictability, and user trust, and contribute to evaluation strategies, post-launch monitoring, and risk mitigation techniques like guardrails and fallback paths.
  • Lead the development of grounded and trustworthy AI experiences by supporting retrieval-based workflows, ensuring traceability, managing versioning, and implementing oversight mechanisms to align AI behavior with authoritative source-of-truth data.
  • Guarantee the scalability, resilience, and cost-efficiency of AI products by understanding model economics, inference patterns, latency, throughput, and inter-architectural dependencies.
  • Serve as Marigold’s central AI resource, collaborating with Product, UX, Legal, Security, and Privacy teams to advocate for responsible design, ensure regulatory compliance (including EU AI Act and HIPAA), and drive consistent AI adoption across the entire platform.

About You

You are enthusiastic about the prospect of working directly with executive leadership and taking a hands-on approach to defining foundational AI capabilities. You excel in profoundly collaborative environments, engaging daily with expert AI engineers to bring intricate systems to life. Building AI products from inception motivates you—taking nascent ideas through to scaled, production-ready solutions that are grounded, reliable, transparent, and genuinely beneficial. Above all, you are energized by the chance to influence how AI becomes a core, trusted component of a platform experience and to help define what responsible, high-impact AI truly signifies for marketers.

Ideal Qualifications

  • 5–10+ years of Product Management experience, including at least 3 years building and shipping AI/ML-powered features; experience with 0→1 product development is a significant advantage.
  • A strong grasp of Machine Learning and Large Language Model concepts, including model training, evaluation, grounding, and orchestration within real-world production environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner effectively with engineers and data scientists—speaking their technical language, contributing to complex discussions, and guiding decisions without dictating solutions.
  • Proven track record of making astute product tradeoffs across quality, reliability, cost, latency, and user experience within complex systems.
  • Exceptional, structured communication skills, capable of translating intricate technical behaviors into simple, customer-focused product experiences.
  • Comfortable operating autonomously in ambiguous problem spaces and transforming strategic direction from the CPO into concrete day-to-day product decisions, comprehensive documentation, and efficient execution; prior experience in MarTech is a plus.

Compensation & Benefits

The base salary range for this role is $165,000 - $185,000 annually. Actual compensation is determined by factors such as skills, experience, qualifications, internal equity, geographic location, and applicable law.

Benefits include competitive medical/dental/vision insurance, life/accident/disabilities insurance, supplemental health benefits, FSA, EAP, and pet insurance. We offer generous time off (Open Time Away), paid holidays, a birthday benefit day off, and paid volunteer time. A 401k plan with a company match is provided. Marigold fosters an employee-centric, supportive remote work environment with flexibility, and offers support for life events including paid parental leave.
