At Manulife John Hancock, we invest in the future by starting with you. The Summer Intern Curatorial Assistant position is a launchpad to success, offering a structured opportunity to work closely with the Curator in managing and developing the Corporate Art Collection.
Position Responsibilities
The intern will:
- Conduct research to support deaccessioning, acquisitions, and programming decisions.
- Educate colleagues, clients, and stakeholders through presentations, workshops, and written materials.
- Produce high-quality educational texts for didactics and labels.
- Assist with maintaining the artwork database and updating the inventory.
- Organize and oversee artwork installations, shipping, and storage.
Required Qualifications
Candidates must be enrolled in or have recently completed a Master of Art History, Art Conservation, Criticism & Curatorial Practice, or a similar program; have previous experience handling artworks; and demonstrate excellent communication and organizational skills. Experience in gallery, museum, or institutional collections is considered an asset.
