Job Description
About the Role
The IT Business Analyst role at Manulife within the Risk Technology team is focused on designing and delivering innovative technology solutions to strengthen Global Risk Management. You will shape data, analytics, and workflow tools to support critical risk functions across the enterprise.
Position Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive business requirements, technical specifications, and documentation.
- Analyze complex data sets and design data-driven solutions.
- Conduct cost/benefit analyses for strategic decision-making and budgeting.
- Facilitate process reviews and identify training needs for system implementations.
- Lead or collaborate in agile environments delivering iterative business value.
- Serve as a facilitator, communicator, and trainer for team members and stakeholders.
- Research, evaluate, and document business issues related to workflows and system design.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years in analytics, technology, or risk-related roles.
- Strong experience with SQL, data modeling, and BI tools (Qlik, Tableau, Power BI).
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Analytics or related field.
- Expertise in system design, business analysis, and user acceptance testing.
- Solid understanding of Financial Risk concepts and regulatory risk reporting methods.
- Strong grounding in statistical analysis and data inference.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with investment trading operations.
- Knowledge of agile project management methodologies and workflow design.
- Ability to influence and negotiate with cross-functional stakeholders.
- Experience in translating complex business needs into technical solutions.
- Experience in delivering training or technical tutorials.
