Position: Electrical Maintenance Technician II (2nd Shift)
Shift: Monday to Friday, 2:30 PM - 11 PM
Compensation: Up to $40 per hour, depending on experience
Overview of Role
This role is based in a steel mill where you will perform a variety of maintenance tasks focusing primarily on electrical systems and equipment. It requires advanced troubleshooting and repair skills of electrical components along with practical knowledge of mechanical systems, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of heavy industrial equipment.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair electrical issues independently.
- Perform preventive maintenance on equipment.
- Support large electrical and mechanical projects.
- Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
- Operate and maintain diagnostic tools and CMMS.
Requirements
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or an associate's degree preferred.
- 3+ years of maintenance experience in mechanical, electrical, or facilities roles.
- Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
- Strong understanding of preventive maintenance and safety regulations.
- Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
Desired Qualifications:
- Relevant certifications (EPA, OSHA, etc.) and experience with BAS, PLCs.
- Background in manufacturing or industrial maintenance environments.
Technology Requirements
- Proficiency in maintenance management software (CMMS).
- Familiarity with diagnostic tools (multimeters, thermography cameras).
Other Requirements
- Flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
