Job Overview
The Human Resources Generalist at Maker's Pride is responsible for coordinating hourly recruitment and onboarding, resolving employee relations issues, administering HR policies, and overseeing temporary labor programs along with various projects. The role also entails promoting a safe, positive work culture and partnering in safety initiatives.
Key Duties
- Oversee hourly staffing processes including recruiting, interviews, offers, and onboarding.
- Evaluate site compliance to policies ensuring consistency with federal, state, and local labor laws.
- Interpret company policies, administer safety programs, and manage employee benefits.
- Process bi-weekly payroll and collaborate with supervisors on timecard approvals.
- Administer agency associate programs, leave management, and benefits inquiries.
- Address employee relations concerns in partnership with HR management.
- Partner with state agencies on unemployment issues and EEO/AAP reports.
- Support safety initiatives including training, audits, and workers' compensation.
- Utilize HRIS systems for maintaining metrics and compliance reports.
Required Competencies & Knowledge
- Experience with Kronos, MS Office and familiarity with Dayforce is a plus.
- Strong understanding of employment laws and OSHA regulations.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and multi-tasking skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced setting.
Work Environment & Qualifications
This role is primarily office-based with visits to night shifts and production areas. A minimum of 2 years’ HR experience is required, and a Bachelor’s Degree is preferred. Experience in ISO or World Class Manufacturing, Lean Manufacturing, or TMS is an advantage. PHR/SPHR certification and bilingual skills are a plus.
