Job Description
Broadcast Engineer Replay Part-Time
The Office of the Commissioner seeks a Part-Time Engineer to support the MLB Replay Operations Center and all (30) Major League Baseball Clubs.
Responsibilities
- Document equipment status and validate incoming video streams used for Replay operations.
- Interact with Clubhouse staff and MLB team personnel regarding equipment operation, maintenance, and support.
- Communicate with other MLB departments to coordinate and fulfill technical requests.
- Maintain detailed, accurate, and thorough technical documentation.
- Assist with preventive maintenance and troubleshooting of all broadcast and replay devices.
- Install, maintain, and support complex broadcast systems and infrastructure.
- Demonstrate flexibility by adjusting responsibilities as new opportunities and technologies develop.
- Troubleshoot technical facilities, including control rooms, broadcast equipment, and computer systems.
- Confirm daily functionality of Umpire communication equipment and coordinate replacements across all ballparks.
- Coordinate shipping, replacement, and deployment of Replay-related infrastructure, clubhouse equipment, and field-level systems.
- Coordinate camera acquisition and integration with regional sports networks and MLB staff.
- Respond to requests for technical support via telephone and email.
Qualifications & Skills
- Strong working knowledge of broadcast and video technology.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to rapidly diagnose video system issues and implement alternative solutions when needed.
- Understanding of CAD drawings and technical elevations.
- Ability to identify and troubleshoot issues in infrastructure environments and software applications.
- Effective team player capable of working independently without direct supervision.
- Adaptable to and learn new technical systems and workflows.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends and holidays.

- Hawk-Eye systems
- Riedel intercom systems
- Cloud-based production systems
- Remote camera operations and related broadcast technologies
Pay Rate
$30.00 per hour
The actual offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your work experience, education, skills, and any other factors MLB considers relevant to the hiring decision.
