Job Responsibilities

Shelby Foam Systems, a division of Magna Seating, manufactures foam seat components for the automotive industry. Operating on three shifts and requiring a minimum of 40 working hours per week with occasional weekend shifts, Production Operators perform various tasks while standing. Responsibilities include:

  • SPRAY: Prepare molds so foam does not stick to them.
  • INSERT: Insert components into molds per part specifications.
  • DEMOLD/CLEAN: Remove foam parts from molds and clean molds.
  • TRIMMERS: Examine parts and trim any excess foam.
  • INSPECTION/GLUE: Complete inspection of parts.
  • REPAIR: Repair parts when necessary, followed by a second inspection.
  • PACKOUT/BOX: Build boxes, sort, count, pack, label, and scan parts for shipment.

Qualifications & Requirements

No previous experience required; training provided. Physical tasks include bending, stooping, crouching, reaching, and lifting up to 10lbs (pushing/pulling up to 20lbs). Constant standing is required. Overtime and weekend work may be necessary. A skills test is required.
