The Opportunity for a Content and Communications Marketing Manager

The Macquarie Data Centres marketing team runs a multi-faceted marketing engine to attract new customers by utilising a mix of digital, social, and traditional marketing tactics. Reporting to the Head of Marketing, the Content and Communications Marketing Manager plays a critical role in driving Macquarie Data Centres’ go-to-market strategy through high-impact content that fuels demand generation, pipeline growth, and brand leadership.

Working with the Head of Marketing and tapping into a wide range of internal SMEs, the Content and Communications Marketing Manager will develop and own a content marketing plan aimed at engaging senior enterprise and wholesale buyers such as CIOs, Heads of IT, infrastructure leaders, and procurement decision-makers. This includes digital marketing and sponsorship of data centre events.

This role suits a results-driven content marketer who is performance-driven, data-led, and hands-on, with strong experience in B2B technology marketing and modern marketing automation environments.

Required Skills

  • Solid understanding of full-funnel content marketing, with the ability to create and share self-written content across the funnel.
  • Extensive experience in B2B content marketing, preferably within technology or an agency environment servicing this industry.
  • Demonstrated experience writing content for lead generation, nurture programs, websites, and digital channels.
  • Experience with marketing automation platforms and CRM systems (Salesforce preferred).
  • Strong understanding of enterprise technology buyers and complex sales cycles.
  • Results-driven, data-driven individual with creativity, originality, and a high level of conceptual thinking.
  • Excellent project management, presentation, and decision-making skills.
  • Degree in marketing, communications, or journalism (essential); postgraduate qualification in business or an IT discipline (advantageous but not required).

What You Will Be Doing

  • Own and execute the end-to-end content marketing strategy.
  • Write and produce content to support Macquarie Data Centres’ go-to-market activities and priorities.
  • Act as the in-house technical content writer and develop a broad range of content assets.
  • Produce high-quality content assets that fuel digital marketing, website content, communications streams, thought leadership, and sales enablement.
  • Partner closely with Sales to understand buyer objections, pain points, and opportunities, and develop and maintain a library of sales enablement assets, including product sheets, sales presentations, industry battlecards, and value propositions.
  • Support brand positioning through consistent, high-quality content that reinforces trust, scale, expertise, and leadership.
  • Write or partner with the PR agency and internal executives to develop press releases, opinion pieces, and contributed articles, and support executive thought leadership such as speeches and op-eds.
  • Act as a key contributor and owner of Macquarie Data Centres’ website content and social media channels, aimed at engaging target audiences.
