Position Overview
The Assistant Professor Public Relations at MacEwan University is an entry-level, full-time, tenure-track academic position in the Department of Communication, Faculty of Fine Arts and Communications. The appointment is scheduled to commence on July 1, 2026, subject to budgetary approval.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
- Teach a variety of Public Relations courses and related courses within the BCS degree program.
- Conduct scholarly research and develop a research program.
- Mentor and support undergraduate students.
- Develop curriculum and promote the new Public Relations program.
- Participate in service activities for the department, faculty, university, and community.
Qualifications & Application Process
Candidates must have or be near completion of a terminal degree in Public Relations or a related field. A strong commitment to undergraduate teaching and an ongoing research program is required. Application materials include a cover letter, curriculum vitae, teaching dossier (with recent evaluations), research statement, and a sample of scholarly work.
