About the Role: Local Publisher
Macaroni KID is seeking a flexible, work-from-home Local Publisher to entertain your kids, enrich your community, and earn money and fun perks. This is an exciting opportunity to grow with our team throughout the United States.

Responsibilities
- Publish a weekly hyper-local e-newsletter and events calendar featuring family-friendly events, activities, and programming in your Territory (minimum 45 times per year).
- Write articles each month featuring family-friendly content and fun things to do with kids in your community.
- Regularly use social media to connect with your readers and promote local family-friendly activities.
- Market your Macaroni Kid business to local businesses and organizations for advertising campaigns (Publishers keep 100% of advertising revenue).
- Support Macaroni Kid HQ on national and regional advertising campaigns by writing reviews, sharing articles, and posting content on social media (partners include Disney, Mattel, American Girl).
- Attend Macaroni Kid New Publisher Training Webinar, complete the curriculum within three months, and participate in specialized training.
Qualifications
- Excellent communication skills, including writing articles and reviews. A writing sample is required.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and engagement in the local kid and family space (active in parenting groups, online forums, following local mom blogs). Local blogger or influencer experience is a plus.
- Ability to take great photos and videos, with basic editing skills.
- Basic technological skills: comfortable using social media (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter) and access to a PC or Mac.
- Community-minded with collaborative and effective communication skills for working with businesses and neighboring Publishers.
- Entrepreneurial spirit with a ‘can-do’ attitude and willingness to learn.
