The Role: Entry-Level Staff Accountant

The Entry-Level Staff Accountant is primarily responsible for developing essential skills in applying accounting, auditing, and tax theory and principles. In this role, you are expected to build a strong technical knowledge base while observing and learning how to apply this knowledge effectively in a professional accounting context.

Responsibilities

• Perform various accounting, auditing, and tax practices to ensure the accuracy and reliability of data.
• Contribute to client satisfaction by delivering high-quality service.
• Actively seek opportunities to enhance industry and technical expertise in accounting and auditing.
• Participate in industry training/development events, conduct presentations, and engage in professional reading.

Experience and Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in an accredited 150-hour Accounting Degree Program, or Master of Science in Accounting Program, or MBA program with a concentration in Accounting.
• Candidates must meet the educational coursework requirement for the NYS 150-hour education requirement for Certified Public Accountant (CPA) upon degree conferral and/or prior to full-time hire.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, meticulous attention to detail, and strong organizational abilities.
• Ability to travel to client locations, primarily within Western New York.
• A strong willingness to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
