Role Overview
As a Senior Backend Engineer AWS at Lumenalta, you will design and implement robust backend systems, ensuring our applications are secure, scalable, and efficient. You will collaborate with DevOps and frontend teams to deliver high-performance applications that leverage AWS cloud services and Kubernetes.
Key Responsibilities
- Backend Development: Build, maintain, and optimize backend systems using Python and integrate with AWS cloud services.
- Cloud Infrastructure Management: Design and deploy AWS infrastructure using EC2, Lambda, RDS, and S3 with a focus on scalability and security.
- Kubernetes Orchestration: Manage containerized applications ensuring proper scaling, load balancing, and orchestration.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Utilize Terraform or AWS CDK to automate infrastructure provisioning.
- Monitoring & Logging: Implement monitoring and logging using Grafana and Loki to ensure system reliability.
- Collaboration: Work closely with DevOps, frontend, and product teams for cohesive application delivery.
- Automation & Optimization: Automate workflows to improve infrastructure and application performance.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in backend development with cloud-native applications.
- Proficiency in Python for backend services and scripting.
- Extensive experience with AWS core services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, and RDS.
- Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes for container orchestration.
- Experience with monitoring tools like Grafana and Loki.
- Proven expertise with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform or AWS CDK.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- AWS Certifications (Solutions Architect, Developer, or SysOps) are a plus.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines for automated deployment and testing.
- Knowledge of security best practices for cloud-native applications.
- Familiarity with other cloud platforms such as Azure or GCP.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary range: CA$76,000 - CA$139,000 annually. Benefits include flexible remote working hours, health insurance for T4 employees, and a professional development fund.
Work Environment
This full-time position requires 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, and offers a remote work setup focused on growth and work-life balance.
