As a Planning Engineer at Lumen, you will apply approved technologies and architectures to specific requirements for additions to support growth and new services. This is a work from home position within the U.S.
Main Responsibilities of a Planning Engineer
- Supports federal and local government quoting activity.
- Prepares plans and specifications, to include gathering field data.
- Assures that the most feasible, practical and economical means to complete the work are utilized.
- Provides cost data to support capital planning and budgeting.
- Skilled in planning and/or engineering.
- Analyzes local and wide area network systems and/or customer network environment, including planning, designing, evaluating, selecting operating systems and protocol suites and configuring communication media with concentrators, bridges and other devices.
- Supports the acquisition and implementation of leased services.
- Receives direction and guidance to complete tasks.
Required Qualifications
- Fully seasoned with typically 5+ years professional experience with a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent education and experience or 2-3 years with a Master's Degree.
- Attention to detail with good organizational capabilities.
- Ability to prioritize with good time management skills.
- Strong data/economic analysis skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
- Detail oriented with an intense focus on quality.
- Proven track record as adept and effective project manager.
- Exceptional organizational, prioritization, and communications skills.
- Strong computer skills with emphasis on Microsoft Excel.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience quoting to military installations and other government facilities.
- Experience in an engineering role that included a substantial business/financial focus.
Compensation and Benefits
This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors.
