AI/ML Engineer – Service Operations

Join our AI Team within our Service Operations division and help us architect, build and operate production-grade AI solutions for the airline industry. Your contributions will play a critical role in delivering innovative, reliable, and efficient AI-driven capabilities that enhance operational efficiency, resilience, automate repetitive workflows and improve incident response capabilities in the cloud. You’ll collaborate closely with Service Operations, Application Operations and Platform teams to build AIOps systems, such as auto-triaging incidents, classifying tickets, detecting anomalies in production, and integrating AI into enterprise platforms like Jira and observability tools.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect and implement scalable AI/ML solutions on Azure (preferred) or GCP, leveraging services such as Azure Databricks, Azure ML Studio, Data Lake Storage, Event Hubs, Functions (or GCP equivalents: Dataproc/Databricks, Vertex AI, Dataflow, BigQuery, Pub/Sub, Cloud Functions).
• Support operational excellence with use cases such as intelligent ticketing, AIOps and service incident prediction.
• Integrate ML models with enterprise systems (e.g. Jira, ServiceNow, observability stacks) to drive automated decision-making.
• Implement MLOps practices (CI/CD for ML, infrastructure-as-code, model versioning and automated retraining/deployment pipelines).
• Instrument solutions for monitoring, alerting and logging using Application Insights, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack or equivalent.
• Apply best practices in security, scalability, cost optimization and disaster recovery for cloud-based AI workloads.
• Explore, stay current on and evaluate emerging AI architectures and tools for applicability in IT operations and support workflows.

Must-Have Qualifications

• Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or related quantitative field.
• 2+ years of experience in ML engineering or AI solution development, ideally with production deployments supporting operational or enterprise use cases.
• Familiarity with Azure data & AI services (e.g.: Azure Databricks, Azure ML Studio, Data Factory, Data Lake, Event Hubs, Functions) or GCP equivalents.
• Familiarity with prompt engineering, LLM fine-tuning and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG).
• Programming skills in Python.
• Understanding of cloud networking fundamentals (VNETs, subnets, security groups, peering).
• Experience with monitoring, observability and logging toolsets (Prometheus, Grafana, Application Insights, ELK).
• Excellent communication skills in English; ability to present complex architectures to stakeholders.
• Self-starter mindset with a strong focus on delivering business value and operational excellence.

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with service operations platforms and practices (Jira, ServiceNow, Opsgenie) and AIOps use cases (e.g., anomaly detection, root cause analysis).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines for ML (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions) and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform or ARM templates).
• Experience with MLOps frameworks (MLflow, Kubeflow).
• Hands-on Spark/Databricks expertise.
