Role Overview - Automation Engineer II, Paint Controls
As an Automation Engineer II, Paint Controls, you will work with cross-functional teams and the Maintenance department to drive continuous improvement and standardization on manufacturing lines and processes at Lucid Motors. You will solve operational issues, program PLC ladder logic, lead continuous improvement projects, and support both installation and troubleshooting of automated systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Support operations-level maintenance and troubleshoot process equipment.
- Architect, write, and debug structured PLC ladder logic.
- Ensure system backups and collaborate with IT/OT teams.
- Lead continuous improvement projects and collaborate with AME.
- Develop HMI screens for complex machinery.
- Manage electrical cabinet builds, field wiring, and construction projects.
- Train maintenance and production teams on automated systems.
- Support second-tier production and after-hours remote troubleshooting.
- Create machine interactions with MES.
- Optimize automated processes to enhance uptime and yield.
Required Qualifications
- BS/MS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- 2-4 years of hands-on experience in controls or robotics engineering.
- Expertise in PLC programming, ladder logic, and HMI design.
- In-depth knowledge of electrical and safety standards.
- Proficiency in CAD for electrical and fluid schematics.
- Familiarity with industrial sensors, variable frequency drives, and robotic systems.
