About the role

Cloud Operations Team Lead

LTIMindtree is seeking a Cloud Operations Team Lead to provide operational support for AWS and Azure IaaS services. This role involves leading a team, managing incidents, ensuring compliance, and driving automation improvements.

Core Responsibilities

  • Provide operational support for AWS and Azure IaaS services, including AWS EC2, EBS, AMIs, Snapshots, Load Balancers, VPC, and Azure Virtual Machines, Disks, VNets, NSGs, Load Balancers.
  • Perform and oversee incident, service request, and change management activities.
  • Drive CAB calls and PIR calls with the client.
  • Act as a technical escalation point (L2/L3) for complex infrastructure issues.
  • Ensure adherence to defined SOPs, runbooks, and operational processes.

Team Leadership & Coordination

  • Lead a team of AWS/Azure cloud administrators.
  • Assign tasks, track progress, and ensure timely resolution of tickets.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to team members.
  • Review operational work for quality, compliance, and accuracy.

Monitoring, Backup & Compliance

  • Ensure infrastructure monitoring alerts are reviewed and acted upon.
  • Support backup validation, snapshot management, and restore testing.
  • Ensure tagging standards, patching coordination, and compliance checks are met.
  • Assist in audit support and evidence collection activities.

Networking Infrastructure Support (IaaS Scope)

  • Support cloud networking at the infrastructure level, including AWS security groups, routing, subnet issues, and Azure NSGs, routing, connectivity validation.
  • Coordinate with Network teams for issues outside the defined scope.

Operational Governance

  • Participate in daily operations calls, weekly reviews, and service meetings.
  • Support RCA preparation for recurring or major incidents.
  • Maintain operational documentation and update runbooks as needed.
  • Ensure smooth handover and knowledge transfer within the team.

Automation Improvements (Basic Level)

  • Identify basic automation opportunities to reduce repetitive tasks.
  • Support scripting or automation initiatives as defined by leadership.
  • Encourage standardization and process improvements.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Technical Skills: Working experience with AWS and Azure IaaS. Good understanding of cloud networking basics. Experience with monitoring and ticketing tools. Basic scripting knowledge (PowerShell, Bash preferred).
  • Leadership & Operational Skills: Experience leading or acting as a shift/technical lead. Strong incident and problem-solving skills. Ability to coordinate with multiple teams and stakeholders. Good communication and documentation skills.
  • Experience & Qualifications: 7-8 years of overall IT infrastructure experience. 4-6 years in AWS and/or Azure cloud operations. Prior experience in a managed services or support environment. Cloud certifications (AWS/Azure Associate preferred).
