Role Overview
We are seeking a talented Bot Detection Security Engineer specializing in anti-bot technologies and threat detection. In this role, you will design, implement, and maintain sophisticated bot detection and mitigation systems to protect our platform and clients from automated threats and malicious bot activity.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy advanced bot detection systems in real time.
- Implement multi-layered defenses including CAPTCHA, fingerprinting, behavioral analysis, and machine learning-based detection.
- Analyze bot attack patterns and web scraping activities to develop countermeasures.
- Research emerging bot technologies and evasion techniques.
- Develop rate limiting, IP reputation systems, and traffic analysis tools for distributed attacks.
- Collaborate with security, infrastructure, and product teams to integrate detection across customer touchpoints.
- Monitor threat intelligence feeds and security advisories to defend against new attack vectors.
- Tune detection algorithms to reduce false positives while maintaining high accuracy.
- Document security implementations and incident response procedures, ensuring compliance with standards.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of professional experience in software engineering or cybersecurity.
- Proven experience with anti-bot technologies and detection platforms (e.g., Cloudflare Bot Management, DataDome).
- Deep understanding of web architecture, HTTP/HTTPS, TLS fingerprinting, and web application security.
- Expertise in bot detection techniques including browser and device fingerprinting, behavioral analysis, and anomaly detection.
- Hands-on experience analyzing network traffic and security events.
- Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and messaging systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ).
- Proficient in Node.js; Rust experience is advantageous.

- Experience with ML and DS techniques for anomaly detection.
- Knowledge of headless browser detection and tools like Puppeteer/Selenium.
- Familiarity with reverse engineering malicious scripts and JavaScript obfuscation.
- Experience with SIEM, security monitoring, and threat intelligence platforms.
- Understanding of distributed systems, load balancing, CDN, and high-availability security infrastructures.
- Background in penetration testing, ethical hacking, or red team operations.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
