Job Description
About The Position
LSports is a world-leading sports data provider, trusted by sportsbooks worldwide to deliver real-time data with unmatched accuracy and reliability. Our technology powers smarter trading, stronger performance, and deeper engagement at scale. We are looking for a talented Security Researcher to join our product development team. In this role, you will research and analyze advanced bot-detection systems, anti-automation mechanisms, browser defenses, and client-side protection techniques used across the web. You will investigate how modern detection systems work, study the signals they rely on, and help turn research insights into practical capabilities that improve our data collection and automation products. The role also includes researching the impact of proxy infrastructure, IP reputation, geolocation, and network-layer signals on detection systems, and translating those insights into practical product capabilities. This is a hands-on, research-driven role at the intersection of web security, browser internals, reverse engineering, and large-scale web data gathering. What You’ll Do
- Research and analyze advanced bot-detection systems, anti-bot vendors, and client-side protection mechanisms used by modern websites
- Investigate how detection systems identify automation using browser fingerprints, device characteristics, network signals, and behavioral patterns
- Reverse engineer detection logic and study how anti-automation protections operate across browser and HTTP/TLS layers
- Analyze browser internals, JavaScript challenges, and client-side scripts to understand how detection and fingerprinting mechanisms work
- Research evasion techniques, automation strategies, and emerging anti-detection trends to improve product capabilities
- Research how proxy infrastructure, IP reputation, geolocation, ASN diversity, and network-layer behavior affect detection outcomes, and help improve how these capabilities are used in our products
- Build prototypes, internal tools, and research utilities for testing, validating, and comparing detection and evasion approaches
- Collaborate closely with engineering and product teams to turn research findings into scalable product improvements
- Analyze network traffic, logs, and browser behavior to investigate detection events and identify root causes
- Document findings, methodologies, detection patterns, and recommendations in a clear and reusable way
- Stay up to date with developments in anti-bot systems, browser changes, fingerprinting techniques, and web security trends
Requirements
- 3–5 years of experience in security research, web research, cybersecurity, reverse engineering, or software engineering in a research-heavy environment
- Strong understanding of web technologies and protocols, including HTTP/HTTPS, TLS, browser behavior, and modern web applications
- Hands-on experience researching bot-detection systems, anti-bot protections, scraping challenges, automation detection, or web security mechanisms
- Familiarity with browser fingerprinting, device fingerprinting, behavioral analysis, and detection signals used to identify automated traffic
- Experience analyzing network traffic, browser behavior, logs, and security-related events
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate complex technical problems and derive practical conclusions
- Hands-on coding or scripting experience for research, prototyping, tooling, or experimentation
- Ability to work closely with engineers and product stakeholders to turn research into production value
Bonus Points if you have
- Experience as a software engineer.
- Experience working with or researching anti-bot platforms such as Cloudflare, DataDome, PerimeterX, Akamai, or similar systems
- Familiarity with browser automation frameworks such as Puppeteer, Playwright, or Selenium
- Experience with TLS fingerprinting, browser fingerprints, HTTP/2 or HTTP/3 behavior, and low-level detection signals
- Experience analyzing JavaScript obfuscation, browser challenges, and client-side detection code
- Familiarity with Chromium or browser internals
- Experience building internal research tools or validation environments
- Background in reverse engineering, adversarial research, or offensive security
