Technical Business Analyst at LSEG

As a Technical Business Analyst within LSEG's Primary Markets Systems team, part of the Capital Markets Division, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of our products and services. We are looking for an excellent communicator capable of collaborating with both business and technical experts. This position involves understanding product requirements and translating them for software engineers. As this team is being established, your contribution to setting up sound agile practices will be essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Be the main point of contact with Product Owners to elicit, analyse, and validate sophisticated business requirements for software development.
• Document and translate business requirements into a detailed user story backlog in JIRA, supported by content in Confluence, ensuring adherence to LSEG standards.
• Accountable for the quality of the requirement backlog through activities like backlog refinement, requirement discovery, and prioritisation.
• Collaborate with agile teams to ensure scrum velocity is maintained and blockers are removed.
• Take pride in work quality, ensuring delivery within agreed procedures and timeframes.
• Work with multiple Product Managers and partners to capture diverse requirements.
• Coordinate the team, breaking down work to deliver requirements from various partners on time and with high quality.

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of Business Analysis experience.
• 5+ years demonstrated ability to maintain a balanced backlog of user requirements.
• Experience in Scrum / Agile methodology, including working in a scrum team, gathering and writing user stories/requirements, and defining acceptance criteria.
• Ability to gather business requirements and represent them concisely and professionally.
• Excellent verbal communication skills, including the ability to influence and negotiate at all levels within the organisation.
• Excellent written communication skills, both technical and non-technical.
• Excellent problem solving, analysis, research, and process mapping skills.
• Product-focused with dedication to meeting internal and external customer expectations.

• Understanding of data and awareness of data modelling.
• Experience in delivering solutions in a dynamic, friendly, and fast-paced environment.
• Understands usability principles and helps ensure software is fit for purpose.

• Experience in AWS, Azure, and/or other Cloud Computing platforms is a plus.
• Professional qualification or equivalent.
• Technical/Numerical degree (Desirable).
