We are seeking a highly skilled Senior DevOps Engineer to join LSEG’s Real Time Core team, focusing on our Real Time data distribution system. This role demands strong technical and collaboration skills within a dynamic environment. You will work closely with your team and across the organization to deliver exceptional service to our global client base.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage with product owners, team leads, architects, and global team members to build world-class solutions.
  • Manage your workload efficiently while promoting an inclusive and open team culture.
  • Design and implement automated CI/CD pipelines for seamless software deployment.
  • Develop Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) solutions to automate cloud resource provisioning and scaling.
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for one or more supported applications.
  • Ensure system design, workflows, and processes are well-documented and compliant.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (developers, QA, product owners, security, operations) to implement DevOps best practices.
  • Deliver reliable, robust solutions with a consistent focus on quality and security, including due diligence on third-party technical delivery.
  • Take initiative to develop knowledge in new technology products and tools through learning, certifications, and projects.
  • Actively participate in Scrum meetings, providing timely status updates to the Team Lead and/or Scrum Master.
  • Analyze and adapt through agile retrospectives and reviews to enhance team effectiveness and timely, quality delivery.
  • Work effectively under pressure, resolving problems with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication, strong interpersonal skills, and a client-focused approach.
  • Maintain the team's Knowledge Base with up-to-date technical information and issue resolutions.

Key Relationships

  • Primary: Development Manager, Development team, Operations Support team, Quality Engineering Teams, Architecture, SCRUM Master, Product Owner, Business Experts.
  • Secondary: Other LSEG staff.

Qualifications and Experience

Must have:
  • Strong proficiency with Cloud Platforms (minimum 8 years), particularly AWS cloud architecture and security best practices.
  • Experience with AWS EKS Deployment & Automation: provisioning, configuring, and maintaining EKS clusters with self-managed EC2 nodes.
  • Proficiency in CI/CD Pipelines: developing GitLab-based CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments.
  • Expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC): implementing and managing Terraform for infrastructure provisioning.
  • Strong skills in Containerization & Helm Charts: optimizing Docker images, creating Helm charts, and defining Kubernetes deployments.
  • Experience with Ansible to Kubernetes Migration: converting Ansible playbooks to Kubernetes init container scripts or Helm hooks.
  • Knowledge of Multi-Tenancy & Security: defining namespaces, RBAC, network policies, and IAM roles for multi-tenant deployments.
  • Familiarity with Storage & Networking: configuring and integrating AWS EFS, S3, RDS, and Load Balancers in Kubernetes.
  • Experience in Monitoring & Logging: setting up Datadog, CloudWatch, and audit logging for performance and security insights.
  • Ability to design and test Resilience & Disaster Recovery (DR): including failover strategies for AZ recovery, blue-green deployments, and auto-scaling.
  • Experience in Linux operating systems and strong scripting proficiency using BASH and Python for automation.
  • Demonstrated experience in Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, Cloud Formation, CloudWatch, Ansible.
  • Experience working with ServiceNow, GitLab, Jira, Confluence, Kafka, with a proactive approach to learning new technologies.
  • Application knowledge and experience, preferably gained within a critical support environment.
  • Proven ability to identify and implement process improvements and automation.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to react to and keep up with quickly changing technical events and requirements.
  • Ability to quickly understand the wider impacts of changes and technical issues.
  • Degree level qualification (Computing / Computer Science or related discipline).
Nice to have:
  • Experience working on Azure Cloud platform.
  • Experience working with and supporting C++ and Java applications.
  • Relevant certification such as AWS DevOps Engineer qualification.
