Position Summary – Lead Engineer – Analytics DevOps
This role involves building, deploying, and maintaining cloud and on-prem infrastructure and applications. The candidate will drive automation, monitoring, and continuous improvement in development and operational processes.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Develop and manage infrastructure using Terraform, Helm Charts, CloudFormation, or Ansible.
- CI/CD Pipeline Development: Build, optimize, and maintain continuous integration and deployment pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab, GitHub, or similar tools.
- Cloud & On-prem Infrastructure Management: Deploy, manage, and monitor infrastructure using cloud providers (Azure, AWS, GCP) and on-prem systems like VMware and Linux servers.
- Automation: Automate repetitive tasks to improve efficiency in application deployment and service delivery.
- Monitoring & Logging: Collaborate with the SRE team to set up monitoring and alerting systems using Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, etc.
- Teamwork: Work with architects, operations, and developers to achieve seamless integration across environments.
- Security Best Practices: Implement and enforce security protocols including access controls, encryption, and vulnerability remediation.
- SME Support: Provide expertise and support for application deployment and DevOps activities.
Essential Skills, Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 3-5 years of experience in DevOps engineering in a cloud-based environment.
- Expertise in containerization (Kubernetes, Docker) and orchestration.
- Proficient with infrastructure automation tools (Terraform, Helm Charts, Ansible).
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), preferably Azure.
- Strong Linux/Unix system management and scripting experience (Bash, Python, Groovy).
- Experience with CI/CD tools (GitLab, Jenkins) and version control systems (Git, GitHub).
- Familiarity with monitoring & logging tools (Grafana, Prometheus, Datadog).
- Knowledge of networking concepts and security practices.
- Agile/Scrum experience and relevant DevOps or Cloud certifications are a plus.
