About the Role

The Distinguished Architect Artificial Intelligence at LPL Financial is a senior thought leader who drives the vision, design, and governance of AI solutions across the enterprise. Reporting to the Head Of Architecture, this role involves establishing enterprise AI strategy, defining architecture principles and frameworks for AI adoption, and serving on the AI Governance Council.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish AI strategy and roadmap, including agentic AI adoption.
  • Define and govern architecture principles for AI/ML and agentic AI solutions.
  • Participate in the AI Governance Council to enforce governance frameworks.
  • Identify high-value AI use cases in wealth management.
  • Advise senior executives on AI opportunities, risks, ethics, and implementation trade-offs.

Responsibilities In Detail

Develop enterprise AI reference architectures, including multi-agent orchestration and AI safety controls. Collaborate across technology domains to enable secure, scalable AI deployment and ensure solutions align with LPL’s modernization strategy. Act as a thought leader internally and externally, representing LPL in regulatory and industry forums.

Requirements

  • 15+ years in enterprise technology and architecture.
  • 7+ years in AI/ML/advanced analytics.
  • Experience in AI governance councils or similar regulatory forums.
  • Proven experience with AI agent frameworks and multi-agent system design.
  • Graduate degree in Computer Science, AI, Data Science, or a related field is preferred.

Technical Competencies

  • Expertise in agentic AI systems and advanced analytics.
  • Proficiency with Python, PyTorch, TensorFlow, Hugging Face, LangChain, AutoGen, AWS Bedrock, and Azure AI.
  • Strong grounding in model governance, explainability, and risk controls.
  • Familiarity with financial services regulations including SEC and FINRA.

Preferences

Experience in wealth management or advisory roles, thought leadership in responsible AI, and relevant cloud certifications (AWS/Azure) with AI specialization.

Compensation & Benefits

Pay Range: $183,400 - $305,600 per year with a highly competitive Total Rewards package including 401K matching, health benefits, employee stock options, and more.
