Overview
The Assistant Produce Manager oversees the produce department at Lowes Foods, ensuring guest service, merchandising programs, and department operations meet company standards. This role also serves as the Department Manager in their absence.
Responsibilities
- Ensure guests receive polite, friendly service from the produce/floral staff.
- Achieve budgeted sales and profits for the produce/floral department.
- Maintain desired inventory levels and supplies.
- Operate according to merchandising and operational guidelines.
- Assure product quality meets Lowes Foods standards.
- Maintain sanitation and safety per company standards.
- Provide guidance, orientation, training, and feedback to staff.
- Perform product preparation, receiving, conditioning, stocking, and guest service as needed.
- Maintain department staffing and scheduling standards.
- Handle additional duties assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Friendly and outgoing personality.
- Ability to work well with others.
- Capability to lift 50 lbs regularly and 25 lbs continuously.
- Ability to read and understand directions and information.
- Knowledge of produce operations.
- Supervisory skills including training and development.
- Willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements.
