Purpose Of Position
The pastry cook works under the Executive Pastry Chef instructions in preparing the pastries/bread/desserts according to recipes, quality and presentation standards.
Education
- Technical or Trade School Degree
- Valid WA. Food Handlers Permit
Experience
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience as a Pastry Cook, preferably in a hotel or high-end restaurant setting
- Strong knowledge of pastry techniques, cake decoration, and dessert presentation
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Ability to accommodate changes and remain professional at all times
- Willingness to help others and work well in a team-oriented environment
- Innovative, creative and dynamic, with positive attitude toward work
- Results oriented and work well under pressure
- Excellent organization skills
- Ability to work independently and to partner with others to promote positive work environment
- Excellent interpersonal skills with strong written and verbal communication abilities
- Ability to work a flexible schedule
