About Loretto and Your Future Role
Loretto operates two prominent locations in the Syracuse area specializing in Skilled Nursing & Short-Term Rehabilitation: Loretto Health & Rehab at 700 E. Brighton Ave, Syracuse, and The Nottingham Residential Health Care Facility (RHCF) in Jamesville, NY. This program offers a paid Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) State-Accredited Training Program on-site, enabling you to obtain your certification and seamlessly transition into a new CNA position at one of these Loretto sites.
A career as a Certified Nurse Aide is incredibly rewarding and serves as an excellent stepping stone for further nursing roles, such as Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) and Registered Nurse (RN). We are proud to offer the most competitive rates in the area! You will be compensated at $16.00/hr starting from Week 3 of your training. Upon successful completion of training and state certification, your rate will significantly increase to a starting rate of $24.27/hr!
Responsibilities of a Certified Nurse Aide
As a Certified Nurse Aide, you will perform direct and indirect care to residents under the guidance of our dedicated Clinical Team, which includes Nurse Managers, Clinical Coordinators, Nursing Supervisors, and Charge Nurses.
Key Duties Include:
- Providing compassionate care to a diverse age group of residents.
- Assisting residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, transferring, bed mobility, ambulation, feeding, toileting, and positioning.
- Distributing and assisting with snacks and nourishment.
- Collaborating effectively with other healthcare team members to personalize and enhance the patient experience.
- Responding to and anticipating the needs of patients’ family members.
Qualifications We Are Looking For
To be eligible for the Certified Nurse Aide Trainee program, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Must possess a high school diploma or GED that can be verified.
- Must be able to read and write the English Language proficiently.
- Ability to understand and accurately carry out directions and instructions.
- Ability to report changes in a resident’s condition and other pertinent information accurately.
- Ability to take and record information in basic records.
- Knowledge of MS Office and ability to rapidly learn new software.
