Job Description

About L'Oréal

At L'Oréal, we are not just building brands; we are shaping how the world experiences beauty. To achieve this, we are evolving from a 'Data Management' mindset to a 'Knowledge Engineering' mindset.

The Mission: Knowledge Architecture

We are merging the worlds of Master Data (the 'Golden Records') and Data Modeling (the 'Language') into a single, powerful strategic pillar: Knowledge Architecture.

As the Data Architecture Lead, Digital & Marketing, you will be the Chief Librarian and Architect of L'Oréal’s digital & marketing ecosystem. Your mission is to build the undisputed 'Business Knowledge Graph' that empowers our teams to make informed decisions and enables our AI agents to deeply understand our business. You will replace isolated data silos with a unified, interoperable foundation where 'Consumer', 'Product', and 'Campaign' mean the same thing everywhere—from a dashboard in Paris to an algorithm in Shanghai.

A Day in the Life of a Data Architecture Lead, Digital & Marketing

You are the bridge between the technical blueprint and the business reality. One hour, you might be defining the 'Golden Rules' for our Product Catalog to ensure it flows seamlessly to TikTok and Amazon. The next, you are architecting the semantic layer that allows our GenAI tools to answer complex marketing questions accurately.

You are not just managing lists; you are engineering the brain of our digital organization.

Your Key Responsibilities Will Include

The Architect: Unified Data Models & Semantics
  • Define the Language: Design and govern the function-wide Conceptual & Logical Data Models. You will ensure we have a 'Single Source of Truth' for how data is structured across all Digital & Marketing domains.
  • Build the Blueprints: Create the official architectural plans (SDS, SDDS, CDS) for our core data products, replacing 'spaghetti' integrations with reusable, standardized 'Lego blocks' that speed up development.
  • AI Readiness: Design taxonomies and semantic frameworks specifically for AI consumption, ensuring our data is machine-readable and ready for GenAI agents (RAG, Co-pilots).
The Engine: Master Data Management (MDM)
  • Govern the Entities: Own the lifecycle of our critical business entities (Consumer, Product, Content) and Referentials (Websites, Social Accounts), serving as the guardian of the 'Golden Record'.
  • Accelerate Operations: Transform MDM from a bottleneck into an accelerator by automating creation requests to drastically reduce Time-to-Market for new products and campaigns.
  • Connect the Dots: Map the lineage and relationships between data points, creating a true 'Knowledge Graph' that links a product launch to a media campaign to a consumer interaction.
The Governor: Strategy, Quality & Culture
  • Master the Metadata: Own the Collibra strategy, making it the living engine of our documentation and automation, not just a static dictionary.

We Are Looking For

You are a hybrid leader: part Data Architect, part Product Manager, and part Diplomat. You understand that a perfect model is useless if no one uses it, so you balance architectural rigor with business agility.

You Are a Great Match If You Have

  • Experience: 8+ years in Data Architecture, Master Data Management (MDM), or Ontology/Knowledge Graph roles within a complex, global environment.
  • The "Double Threat" Skillset: Deep expertise in MDM, knowing the operational reality of managing referentials, Golden Records, and governance workflows (Tibco EBX experience is a plus); strong modeling skills, capable of designing conceptual/logical models (ERD, Dimensional) and understanding how they feed BI and AI.
  • AI-First Mindset: You understand how Large Language Models (LLMs) consume data and why semantic layers are the key to the future of search and automation.
  • Leadership & Soft Skills: You can explain complex architectural concepts to a Marketing Director and negotiate standards with a Zone IT Lead. You are structured, resilient, and persuasive.
  • Tech Stack: Familiarity with Collibra (Catalog), Tibco EBX, SQL, Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery), and Data Modeling tools.

What’s In It For You

  • Strategic Impact: You are defining the 'Brain' of L'Oréal Digital, with your work directly enabling the next generation of AI Agents and Marketing Automation.
  • Innovation: Move beyond traditional 'maintenance' roles to pioneer the convergence of MDM and AI, building a cutting-edge Knowledge Graph.
  • Global Exposure: Work with stakeholders across 150 markets, Finance, R&I, and Tech, gaining a panoramic view of the world’s #1 Beauty Tech company.
  • Real Responsibility: From day one, there’s no sitting on the sidelines at L’Oréal.
  • Inclusive Environment: An environment where people of every ethnicity, social background, age, religion, gender, and sexual orientation, as well as people with disabilities, are accepted, can speak up, will thrive, and are celebrated!
  • Purpose: A place where you can contribute to something bigger; many of our brands have societal/environmental causes to make a concrete difference.

Join us. Let’s build the knowledge foundation that moves the world.
