Capital Markets Analyst
Logan Finance Corporation is seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Capital Markets Analyst to support our growing Non-QM mortgage platform. This role is crucial for investor relations, loan sale execution, profitability analysis, and overall capital markets functions.
Position Overview
The Capital Markets Analyst will work closely with production, operations, underwriting, accounting, and executive leadership. The primary goal is to optimize loan profitability, foster strong investor relationships, and contribute to significant company growth within the Non-QM lending sector.
Key Responsibilities
Pricing & Profitability Management
- Analyze and price residential mortgage loans based on investor guidelines, market conditions, and company profitability goals.
- Manage loan-level and product-level margins to align with corporate revenue and growth objectives.
- Review pricing exceptions and concession requests, offering recommendations rooted in profitability, competitiveness, and strategic alignment.
- Conduct detailed pricing and profitability analyses to inform product development, investor selection, and business strategy.
- Evaluate the financial impact of investor pricing shifts, product improvements, and market changes on loan profitability.
- Develop and maintain sophisticated profitability models, pricing analytics, and management reporting tools.
Investor Relations & Loan Sales
- Cultivate and manage relationships with key investors and aggregators.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of investor guidelines, overlays, and program updates.
- Monitor pipeline status and investor commitments to ensure efficient loan delivery and execution.
- Prepare and deliver comprehensive loan sale packages and all necessary supporting documentation.
- Address and resolve post-purchase conditions and investor inquiries promptly.
- Assess new investor opportunities and execution channels to enhance profitability and operational efficiency.
Reporting & Analytics
- Develop and maintain essential capital markets reporting and dashboards.
- Analyze loan production trends, gain-on-sale performance, investor execution results, and key profitability metrics.
- Monitor loan-level profitability to identify opportunities for margin improvement.
- Provide management with actionable insights on investor performance, product trends, and market opportunities.
- Support monthly and quarterly forecasting for loan sales and capital markets activities.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business, Mathematics, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in mortgage capital markets, secondary marketing, investor relations, mortgage analytics, or a related financial services area.
- Solid understanding of residential mortgage lending and secondary market fundamentals.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, lookup functions, data analysis, and reporting.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Capacity to manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment.

- Experience with Non-QM lending products and investor programs.
- Familiarity with loan sale execution, investor delivery processes, and post-purchase reviews.
