Job Summary: Final Assembly Inspector at Lockheed Martin

As a Final Assembly Inspector at Lockheed Martin, you will perform diversified assembly and installation inspection operations on in-process aircraft within Final Assembly. This crucial role involves following standard inspection procedures, drawings, specifications, check sheets, and other written or oral instructions to ensure all final assembly inspection requirements are met.

You will be responsible for checking the completeness and detail of all related systems and components requiring final checkout. A key part of your role will be to maintain current records of deviations and document non-conforming products due to workmanship or defective materials, adhering to current Non-Conforming Material Rejection Procedures. You will also inspect assemblies and installations not previously completed due to parts shortages, Engineering design changes, or rework, and perform similar Final Assembly inspections on derivative aircraft.

Maintaining certifications for Torque, Flight Safety Parts, and Portable Penetrant Inspections is essential. You will utilize the Electronic Operation Sheet System (Solumina) for accountability of all assembly operations and test requirements, and the electronic Non-Conforming Material Rejection Report System for parts rejection. Additionally, you will perform detail specification checks and other related inspection duties as directed, referring questionable conditions or recurring difficulties to your working leader or supervision. Compliance with all EH&S practices and proper segregation of waste material are also part of your responsibilities.

Basic Qualifications

  • Requires basic knowledge of assembly methods and inspection procedures.
  • Ability to read wiring schematics, check sheets specification, work guides, and written instructions.

  • Perform diversified assembly and installation inspection operations in Final Assembly on in-process aircraft.
  • Follow standard inspection procedures, drawings, and specifications.
  • Check for completeness of all related systems and components requiring final checkout.
  • Maintain current records of deviations and document non-conforming products.
  • Inspect assemblies and installations not previously completed (carry forward).
  • Perform similar Final Assembly inspections on derivative aircraft.
  • Maintain Certifications for Torque, Flight Safety Parts, and and Portable Penetrant Inspections.
  • Utilize Electronic Operation Sheet System (Solumina) for accountability.
  • Utilize electronic Non Conforming Material Rejection Report System for parts rejection.
  • Perform detail specification checks and other related inspection duties.
  • Refer questionable conditions or recurring difficulties to working leader or supervision.
  • Segregate waste material and comply with all EH&S practices.
