AI Full Stack Engineer – Agentic Systems & Ontology
Lockheed Martin is undergoing a digital transformation, accelerating change by embracing AI and OneLM Mission-Driven Transformation. The Advanced Solutions team within the Data & AI Enablement Org is seeking an AI/ML Full Stack engineer, or an accomplished full stack engineer looking to grow into an AI/ML engineer, to support the AI Strategy Acceleration portfolio. This portfolio focuses on standardized agentic development and ontology generation, enabling semantic data discovery, reasoning, and information retrieval. We provide solutions and capabilities that underpin all AI solutions within the Advanced Solutions Division and engage in experimental work for exploring cutting-edge technologies. In this role, you will collaborate closely with experts in AI, software engineering, and systems development to create innovative solutions that support organizational goals. You will develop solutions for data-driven decision-making and architect, deploy, and support enterprise-scaled services on cloud and on-premise technologies. Key Qualifications
- Proven full-stack software development experience with advanced Python, proficiency in at least two other programming languages (e.g., Java, C++, Go), and modern JavaScript frameworks (React.js, Angular).
- Ability to design and validate knowledge graphs based on ontologies and integrate graph data into applications, managing the entire lifecycle of an AI-powered application.
- Experience with LLMs/Generative AI and Cloud Infrastructure with GitOps.
- Demonstrated experience with API design and specifications (REST/OpenAPI, JSON/JSON-Schema), including building and managing APIs and back-end systems.
- US Citizenship required due to program requirements and system access.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, AI/ML, or a related field (or equivalent education/experience).
- Proven experience maintaining/managing GitHub/GitLab projects with multiple developers.
- Experience with strategic use of GenAI Coding Assistants.
Desired Skills
- Experience designing and validating knowledge graphs (KG) based on ontologies and integrating graph data into applications. Familiarity with KG adjacent tools and technologies (e.g., RDF, OWL, SPARQL, Ontop).
- Expertise with agent development using various agentic tools and standard agentic frameworks (CrewAI, Google ADK, LangChain, LangGraph, Pydantic AI, AWS Strands).
- Expertise with autonomous workflows, Agentic DevOps, and the Agentic development lifecycle.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with AWS services (Amazon RDS PostgreSQL, Amazon Bedrock, EC2 instances, S3 storage) for building, deploying, and scaling applications.
- Experience setting up and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI, Jenkins, or Kubernetes/OpenShift pipelines) with a background deploying/using Terraform/Ansible.
- Data engineering experience.
- Experience with production-level LLM Tool Calling workflows.
- Expert design and delivery experience in API Development & Integration (REST, GraphQL, etc.).
- Expertise and strategic use of GenAI Coding Assistants.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and cross-functional stakeholder experience.
- Understanding of Lockheed Martin’s Business Area(s) – solid understanding of that area’s end-to-end business processes and supporting data.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, AI/ML or related field.
