Job Description
Conversational AI Prompt Designer
We are seeking a Conversational AI Prompt Designer to craft and optimize conversational prompts for our Voice AI agents. This role focuses on translating proven human call strategies into natural, high-performing AI conversations that improve caller experience, engagement, and conversion rates.
You will work closely with our Manager of Performance Call Systems to translate proven human conversation strategies into high-performing AI prompts that drive better caller experiences, higher engagement, and improved conversion outcomes.

Location Details
This position is remote (hybrid available if within commuting distance to Boulder, CO) and open to candidates living in the following locations: Colorado, Florida, Illinois, New Hampshire, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington DC, and Puerto Rico. Relocation assistance is not provided. A Day in the Life
Prompt Design & Development
- Translate call scripts, business rules, and conversational strategies into structured prompts for voice AI agents
- Design prompts that guide natural, human-like conversations
- Ensure prompts maintain compliance, tone, and business objectives
- Create conversation flows including openings, qualification, objection handling, and transfers
Collaboration with Manager of Performance Call Systems
- Partner with Manager of Performance Call Systems to understand intent, tone, objection handling, and conversion tactics
- Convert qualitative guidance into precise, testable prompt logic
- Help refine conversation strategies based on real-world performance
Testing & Iteration
- Continuously test prompts in real-world call scenarios
- Analyze call transcripts, outcomes, and performance metrics to refine prompts
- Iterate quickly to improve connection rates, transfers, and caller experience
- Identify conversation gaps and optimize agent responses
Conversation Optimization
- Improve how agents: Ask qualifying questions, Handle objections, Optimize transition between conversation stages, Manage edge cases and unexpected responses
Cross-Functional Collaboration with Product & Engineering
- Work with Product and Engineering teams to align prompt behavior with platform capabilities
- Suggest improvements to agent behavior and conversation flow
- Help define conversational best practices across voice agents
Documentation & Prompt Frameworks
- Maintain clear documentation of prompt structures, patterns, and best practices
- Help build a scalable prompt library for different use cases, verticals, and states
Qualifications
Here’s What You Need to Get Our Attention
- A minimum of 1 year experience with voice AI platforms (Ultravox, Twilio, VAPI, etc.)
- Bachelor's Degree (minimum) in a related field of study
- Experience designing conversation flows, call scripts, chatbot prompts, or dialogue systems
- Strong writing skills with ability to craft natural, human-like dialogue
- Experience improving call center scripts, sales conversations, or IVR flows
- Ability to translate business goals into structured conversational logic
- Analytical mindset with experience reviewing transcripts and optimizing outcomes
- Excellent written communication skills and attention to tone and clarity
- Comfortable working with product, operations, and data teams
What Will Make Us Call You For Sure:
- Experience with conversational AI, chatbots, or voice agents
- Experience with A/B testing and prompt experimentation
- Experience analyzing call transcripts or conversational analytics
- UX writing, conversation design, or dialogue design experience
- Familiarity with Voice AI tools (Ultravox, VAPI, Twilio, etc.) is a plus but not required

Compensation
$90,000-$120,000 DOE
