About the Role
As a Product Designer on our eComm platform team, you will collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Business colleagues to enhance the discover, browse, and search aspects of the eCommerce journey. Reporting to the Director of Product Design, you will be part of a team of 6 designers. Your primary goal is to create solutions that drive customer engagement, leading to increased 'add to cart' actions. You will function as a full-spectrum UX/UI designer, adept at creating digital interfaces for both web and mobile applications within a collaborative and positive company culture.
What You’ll Do
- Problem Discovery, Definition & Goal Setting: Partner with your team to clearly define problems, initiatives, and outcomes using objective data. Lead discovery sessions and workshops to align the team on problem statements and goals.
- Interaction Design: Apply interaction design principles to achieve desired outcomes. Focus on the interplay of words, visuals, space, time, and user behaviors in digital interfaces. Produce journey maps, service blueprints, information architecture, user flows, and wireframes.
- Art Direction & Visual Design: Design high-fidelity interfaces that reflect the product's visual personality, tone, and aesthetic.
- Design Systems Thinking: Ensure design solutions utilize and advance the team's design system, leveraging existing patterns where possible. Identify and propose scalable solutions for undefined or inconsistent patterns. Promote consistent element naming across design and development.
- Design Research, Validation & Iteration: Contribute to and lead user research. Synthesize research findings using mixed methods, including generative, evaluative, experimentation, and performance data. Track post-launch performance and optimize designs based on data.
- Inclusive Design: Ensure digital products are accessible to all users, reflecting diverse communities. Apply AODA design requirements and knowledge of inclusive design principles to enhance digital products.
Does this sound like you?
The Candid Collaborator: You provide clear, direct feedback consistently, benefiting partners and team members. You approach challenging situations with optimism, care personally, challenge directly, and communicate with candor and courage.
The Critical Thinker: You seek clarity by asking questions about ambiguous problems and listen actively to understand improvement opportunities. You are resilient to change, thrive on growth, and continuously learn and challenge norms.
Your Qualifications Should Include:
- 1-3+ years of experience as a designer on cross-functional teams, releasing consumer or enterprise products.
- Proficiency in Figma, including components, auto layout, and prototyping for scalable design.
- Curiosity and experimentation with AI tools in design workflows, with continuous learning and critical thinking.
- A portfolio showcasing:
- Shipped, beautiful, accessible, and scalable digital experiences.
- Approaches to problem framing and solutions, balancing stakeholder needs and technical constraints.
- Use of design to uncover questions, explore solutions, and define/measure success.
- Key performance indicators used to measure solution effectiveness.
- Application and/or contribution to design systems.
- Experience working in a cross-functional team of Product, Tech, and Design peers.
