Internship Overview
As a Communications Intern, you will be an integral part of the Live Nation Canada Communications team, juggling multiple projects related to media relations and venue marketing. You will gain insight into how various departments collaborate to produce unforgettable shows across the country.
Learning Objectives
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of Canada's media landscape.
- Gain hands-on experience communicating across multiple platforms and engaging various audiences.
- Contribute to a range of communications initiatives for Live Nation Canada's owned and operated music venues.
- Build a strong understanding of the concert and live events industry.
Role & Responsibilities
- Draft press releases for show and tour announcements.
- Draft various media pitches and actively secure press coverage.
- Maintain and update media databases.
- Provide support for media accreditation processes.
- Conduct media monitoring to track coverage and industry trends.
- Offer onsite support at concerts, including social media content capture and media escorting.
Skills & Experience
- Currently enrolled in a college or university program, preferably in communications or public relations.
- Demonstrated capacity to effectively engage with colleagues and external stakeholders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite; Adobe skills (graphic design) are a bonus.
- Highly detail-oriented and organized.
- Proactive work ethic and ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong passion for live entertainment.
Commitment & Compensation
This is a full-time position requiring a minimum commitment of 37.5 hours per week. The expected compensation for this position in Ontario is $22/hour.
Work Environment & Employment Equity
