Overview
The Manager, Accounting at Liquidity Services plays a pivotal role in managing day-to-day accounting operations and financial reporting for the GovDeals segment. This role involves overseeing month-end close processes, account reconciliations, financial statement reviews, and ensuring compliance with GAAP and SOX requirements.
Responsibilities
Manage general ledger maintenance, settlements, revenue recognition, and intercompany transactions. Drive the monthly close process and prepare financial reporting deliverables. Support business leaders and FP&A with budgeting, financial planning and analysis, and management reviews. Ensure accurate financial reporting and maintain strong internal controls. Collaborate with IT to implement technology enhancements for process improvements. Research and resolve complex accounting issues and support audits.
- Oversee daily accounting operations
- Review and approve journal entries and reconciliations
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Enforce SOX requirements and internal controls
- Mentor and coach a team of eight accounting professionals
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or higher in accounting or finance along with 3+ years of accrual basis accounting and supervisory experience. Experience with large-scale ERP systems, with Oracle preferred. Public accounting background and/or CPA license is a plus.
Work Conditions & Benefits
