About the role
Data Analyst, Business
As a Data Analyst on Linktree's Business Analytics team, you'll sit at the intersection of product, growth, and leadership — turning the firehose of data from tens of millions of creators and billions of monthly visitors into the answers and insights our teams use to decide what to build, who to reach, and where to grow next.
You'll partner directly with Product Managers, Marketers, and senior leaders to size opportunities, instrument new launches, diagnose what's working (and what isn't), and shape the metrics that anchor our roadmap. Your work won't sit in a dashboard nobody opens — it'll show up in roadmap decisions, leadership reviews, and the experiments that move our north-star numbers.
This is an L3 role for someone who's ready to operate independently — owning analyses end-to-end, framing the right question before touching SQL, and being the trusted analytical partner inside a product squad. If you love the moment a messy business question turns into a sharp recommendation, you'll fit right in.
What You’ll Own
- Partner with a Product squad as the embedded analyst — sizing opportunities, instrumenting launches, evaluating experiments, and making sure the team's decisions are grounded in the actual data.
- Own end-to-end analyses: framing the question with a stakeholder, writing the SQL, modelling the data, building the visualisation, and delivering a recommendation people can act on.
- Build and maintain the dashboards and self-serve tooling (Hex / Amplitude / similar that your stakeholders use weekly — and evolve them as the business evolves.
- Define and document key product and business metrics in partnership with the Analytics Engineering team, so "what does activation mean?" has one canonical answer across Linktree.
- Translate complex findings into plain-language recommendations for non-technical audiences — PMs, marketers, and leaders — through written memos, dashboards, and the occasional well-crafted slide.
- Be a daily user of (and advocate for) good data hygiene: clear metric definitions, reproducible queries, and version-controlled analyses.
Who We’re Looking For
- 2–3 years of experience as a data, business, or product analyst in a fast-moving consumer or B2B product environment.
- SQL-fluent — comfortable with joins, window functions, CTEs, and modelling event-level data into something a stakeholder can actually use. Bonus points for working knowledge of Python (pandas) or dbt.
- Worked with a modern data warehouse (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift) and a BI/visualisation tool (Looker, Mode, Tableau, or similar).
- Can take an ambiguous business question, scope it, and deliver a recommendation — not just a chart.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, and a track record of working closely with non-technical stakeholders.
- Thrive in environments with autonomy and ambiguity, and motivated by your work showing up in real product decisions.
- Can work from one of our SF, LA, Sydney, or Melbourne offices on a hybrid schedule, or fully remote within the listed regions.
Linktree is committed to providing a fair and competitive compensation package including cash, equity, and benefits. The base salary offered for this role is targeted at $160,000-$170,000 for roles based in San Francisco and Los Angeles. Final offers depend on multiple factors including location, experience, expertise, and role scope, and may vary from the range listed.
P.S. If you don’t tick every box in this listing, please don’t rule yourself out. We take pride in inclusion and hiring incredible human beings with great potential over ticking boxes – so if this role resonates with you, hit that apply button!
