The Role
The Senior System Administrator will actively work on L2, L3 related issues on the Windows platform. They will be responsible for managing client infrastructure and resolving client queries within the stipulated timeframe. This role is part of a 24/7 rotation support and involves answering customer queries via email and phone. The candidate will take ownership of escalations from the Level 1 team and resolve them to customer satisfaction, while also being involved in implementing and designing client architectures.
Responsibilities
- Installation and configuration of Windows Server 2012, 2016, and 2019.
- Designing, implementing, and configuring Microsoft Exchange Server (2010, 2013, 2016, and O365) with Active Directory 2012 R2/2016 datacenter setup – Hybrid or on-premises environment.
- Leading migration projects for upgrading Exchange 2010 to Exchange 2013/2016/O365.
- Configuring and troubleshooting issues related to infrastructure setups like DNS, DHCP, GPO.
- Installing and configuring backups using Veeam/PHD/Symantec Backup.
- Managing MDM setups (Airwatch, inTune, PulseMDM).
- Performing disaster recovery drills for Gravitas customers.
- Working on scripting, including Windows PowerShell, Exchange PowerShell, and Logon scripts.
- Providing timely response to all incidents, outages, and performance alerts.
- Categorizing issues for escalation to appropriate technical teams.
- Recognizing, identifying, and prioritizing incidents in accordance with customer business requirements, organizational policies, and operational impact.
- Documenting all actions in accordance with standard company policies and procedures.
- Notifying customers and third-party service providers of issues, outages, and remediation status.
- Updating runbooks and training new engineers on Gravitas processes.
Windows Servers L2/L3
- Setup, installation, and upgrade of Windows Server 2012 and 2016.
- Installation, configuration, and migration of Active Directory Domain Controllers.
- Resolving Active Directory (AD) related issues, including DNS zone issues, Sites/Subnets review, and configuring/troubleshooting Group Policies and Replication issues.
- Scripting experience in the configuration of Windows Server 2012, 2016, and 2019.
- Installation and configuration of DFS/DFS-R for the environment, and fixing replication issues.
- Contacting vendors in case of system failures.
- Upgrading system hardware and software, performing patching during non-business hours.
- Installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of Print Servers/printers.
- Recommending system improvements and collaborating with Gravitas engineering, operations, and client services teams to implement them.
GCP - Google Cloud Platform
- Google Workspace – Maintenance and management of Google Mail, Google Calendar, Google Drive, and Google Meet.
- User onboarding and offboarding.
Other Technologies
- DFS – Setup and implement DFS share for client environments and troubleshooting, designing scripts.
- RSA – Implement and configure portals for RSA authentication and fix issues.
- VPN – Setup and configure VPN portals for clients and troubleshooting.
- Maintaining and administering client's phone and videoconferencing systems.
- Recommending system improvements and collaborating with Gravitas engineering, operations, and client services teams to implement them.
Advantage with Additional Skills
- Must hold at least 6 years of work experience as a Windows administrator or relevant role.
- Candidates must have knowledge of Level 2/3 (Server/infrastructure Technology).
- Candidates should have handled international customers (Preferably US/UK).
