About the Role: Product Designer, Capital
Lightspeed is seeking a talented Product Designer, Capital to join our Capital team. This team connects qualified merchants with fast and convenient funding, allowing them to focus on business growth rather than financial bureaucracy. We are looking for a designer passionate about creating elegant experiences that deliver more funds to merchants in the most useful ways possible.
Key Responsibilities and What You'll Be Doing
- Problem Solving: Lead full design cycles for features or product areas, seeking guidance when necessary. Participate in design reviews and working sessions, contributing to effective and thoughtful solutions. Translate requirements into clear, usable product features and integrate AI and emerging technologies into your design approach.
- Embedding Systems Thinking: Leverage UX expertise and understanding of design systems, UI design, and micro-interactions to enhance user task completion. Design holistic systems, flows, and interfaces that are simple, elegant, and user-friendly, ensuring consistency across platforms and contributing to design system improvements.
- Driving User-Centricity: Utilize research and data insights to inform design decisions. Collaborate closely with product managers and engineers to align on user needs, balancing usability with business goals.
- Collaboration: Work effectively with cross-functional partners and contribute positively to team culture. Be open to feedback and eager to learn from peers and senior designers.
- Curious, Experimental Mindset: Embrace shipping experiments quickly to gather customer signals, then use that feedback for continuous improvement. Employ qualitative and quantitative data to inform design and product decisions.
What You'll Need to Bring
- At least 4 years of practical, in-house product, UX/UI design experience.
- Proven experience designing fintech products in a fast-paced environment.
- Clear communication skills to explain design decisions and collaborate effectively.
- Solid visual design skills, attention to detail, and a drive to refine your craft.
- A curiosity to learn and adopt new tools, including how AI can enhance user experience and design processes.
- Applied experience working across all digital and physical manifestations of design, from responsive web to native applications.
- Acute self-awareness and deep empathy for both customers and team goals.
- Understanding and ability to consider product strategy and vision, focusing on the 'why' behind design.
- Proficiency with design tools such as Figma, Google Suite, JIRA, and other prototyping tools.
- Fluency in English is required for this global position.
