About the Role

Lightspeed Commerce is looking for a People Business Partner to join our North America People and Culture team on a 1 year contract. In this role, you will be the main contact for all people-related projects, partnering with key stakeholders and leaders to execute a strategic people plan that meets the needs of our growing teams.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Provide strategic leadership to leaders, stakeholders and the People & Culture team.
  • Act as a trusted advisor and coach for leadership.
  • Serve as the first line of contact for employee relations issues.
  • Drive proactive discussions using People data with business leaders.
  • Partner on employee initiatives including career and talent development, employee engagement, and compensation.
  • Lead special projects and organizational design activities such as succession planning and workforce planning.

What You Need to Bring

  • Extensive HR Generalist and People Business Partner experience in a software technology company.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in HR or a related discipline.
  • Experience with large, global, complex projects.
  • Excellent communication, coaching and influencing skills.
  • Knowledge of US labour regulations and employment legislation in Canada and the US.
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion and strong employee engagement strategies.
  • Ability to switch between strategic planning and tactical execution.
