About the Job
The Senior Security Operations Engineer role focuses on strengthening security operations and reducing risk. This role involves detection engineering, alert triaging, and automation to improve response speed and fidelity in a cloud environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead threat detection and incident response efforts.
- Develop detection engineering content for SIEM, XDR, and cloud logging systems.
- Triage and manage alerts from cloud security platforms.
- Enhance logging pipelines, SIEM rules, and threat detection coverage.
- Implement log management and security automation.
- Build and maintain automation workflows for alert triage and incident response.
- Partner with engineering teams to integrate security visibility.
- Participate in on-call rotation for incident response.
- Collaborate with offensive and defensive security teams.
- Continuously improve threat detection coverage and alert fidelity.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands-on security engineering experience.
- Strong AWS expertise including CloudTrail and IAM.
- Proficiency with SIEM, EDR/XDR, and cloud security monitoring tools.
- Scripting and automation skills (Python, SOAR a plus).
- Experience tuning detections and triaging alerts.
- Familiarity with modern application stacks, CI/CD, and DevSecOps.
- Ability to work with engineering teams in a collaborative manner.
- Security certifications are a plus.
Nice to Have
- Exposure to threat hunting or purple team collaboration.
- Knowledge of application security pipelines (GitHub, Terraform, CI/CD security).
