About the Role: Senior Analyst, Data Solutions
We are actively seeking a Senior Analyst, Data Solutions to take on the pivotal role of Product Owner for a Claims Data Products squad at Liberty Mutual Insurance. This newly created position addresses the increasing demand driven by claims platform modernization, our comprehensive data strategy, and an enhanced focus on data governance and AI readiness.
In this role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of data products developed within AWS/Snowflake. You will collaborate closely with Claims Analytics, Reporting, Data Science, and Process teams to translate intricate business needs into clear, actionable work for an offshore development squad. A key aspect of your contribution will be to improve cycle time and quality through robust requirements definition, strategic prioritization, and effective QA practices.
While this role may have in-office requirements depending on your location, the ideal candidate will reside within the Eastern Time Zone, offering flexibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and manage the product backlog for a dedicated Claims Data Products squad, prioritizing work based on business value, inherent risk, and dependencies.
- Partner with diverse stakeholders to meticulously gather requirements, translating them into well-defined user stories, precise acceptance criteria, and a clear definition of done.
- Lead essential Agile ceremonies, including grooming, planning, standups, reviews, and retrospectives, ensuring transparent delivery visibility through Jira.
- Coordinate seamlessly across various teams to effectively resolve blockers and provide clear context for an efficient offshore delivery model.
- Drive superior quality outcomes by establishing rigorous test/validation expectations, actively supporting defect triage, and continuously refining QA practices.
- Ensure all data products consistently meet stringent expectations for PII handling, robust audit controls, and applicable regulatory reporting standards.
- Support vendor and contractor performance management by offering structured feedback and recognizing significant contributions.
What You'll Bring
- Proven experience or a strong aptitude for working as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, or Data Analyst on data-focused initiatives.
- Solid working knowledge of SQL with the ability to proficiently validate data outputs; hands-on Snowflake experience is a significant advantage.
- Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies and essential tools such as Jira.
- Exceptional communication skills, demonstrating the ability to craft clear, concise requirements and effectively align stakeholders across different functions and time zones.
- Comfort operating effectively in a fast-paced environment characterized by evolving priorities and multiple ongoing modernization initiatives.
- Preferred experience includes exposure to AWS, scheduling/orchestration tools (e.g., Control-M), and data integration tools (e.g., IDMC/Informatica).
- A Bachelor’s degree in an IT-related, analytical, or quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.

Qualifications
- Strong written and oral communication skills are essential.
- A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline is preferred; a Master's in similar or related disciplines is strongly preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience in coding for data management, data warehousing, or other data environments, including, but not limited to, NoSQL implementation, ETL, and scripting languages (Python, Perl, Shell).
